CPD topic: Research
Career professionals are often encouraged to 'use research' in their practice, but its not always clear what this actually entails.
This interactive webinar explores eight ways that practitioners can use research, covering topics of supporting interactions with clients, reflective practice, professional development, influencing organisations and raising the profile of under-represented issues.
Rather than focusing on conducting research, the session introduces a practical framework of eight real-world applications of research used across career guidance and wider, to the benefit of clients and practitioners. Participants will explore scenarios, share experiences, and consider different ways to find the right research quickly and effectively.
The session is designed for career guidance professionals who want to embed research and evidence into their practice and role.
Participants will leave with:
• A set of applications for research in professional practice
• Practical examples and reflections on how research could be used
• Increased awareness of sources for finding research (including the CDI's repository).
• A short guide containing the above, with further checklists on a) useful sources, and b) evaluating studies.
This session supports the following competency area:
• Professional Practice, CPD and Research
