As an experienced careers advisor with a deep understanding of career guidance, particularly for individuals with additional needs, I have built a comprehensive skill set that allows me to effectively support both students and adults in navigating their career pathways. My background spans across various sectors, including education, voluntary services, youth and community delivery, and engagement, which has enabled me to work with a diverse range of individuals and organisations.I am passionate about empowering individuals to achieve their full potential, especially those who may face additional challenges. I have honed my expertise in providing tailored career guidance to people with additional needs, ensuring that they have access to the resources, support, and opportunities they require to succeed. This work is further complemented by my extensive experience in change management, where I have supported individuals and organisations through periods of transition, ensuring smooth and effective processes.
With a strong foundation in project management, I have designed and delivered successful initiatives, coordinating multiple stakeholders, managing timelines, and ensuring outcomes are met with precision and quality. My staff management skills have also played a key role in fostering collaborative and effective teams, always prioritising professional development and the overall wellbeing of colleagues.
In addition to my practical experience, my research in practice has enabled me to stay at the forefront of trends and best practices in career development and management. This knowledge allows me to contribute meaningfully to policy development, particularly in areas relating to career services, youth engagement, and voluntary sector initiatives.
