CPD Theme: Black History Month

This session will explore the systemic barriers Black professionals and service users face in the world of work, including issues of underrepresentation, structural racism, and the ‘ethnic penalty’ in career progression. We will reflect on the legacy of colonial systems, how narrative power shapes aspiration, and why representation alone is not enough to achieve equity.

• Reflect on practitioner positionality and the stories we centre in CEIAG

• Identify opportunities to embed race-conscious approaches into everyday practice
