Guiding clients through change

Change is rarely a straight path - it’s a journey through shifting mindsets, emotions, and behaviours. The Change House Theory offers a powerful metaphor for understanding how individuals experience transition, moving through distinct states, or 'rooms', such as Contentment, Denial, Confusion, and Renewal.

In this interactive session, we will:
  • Explore the Change House framework and its relevance for guidance practice.
  • Examine the psychological states associated with each room, highlighting the opportunities and challenges they present for clients.
  • Identify coaching and guidance strategies and interventions that help clients recognise where they are, build awareness, and move forward with purpose.
By the end of the session, participants will leave with:
  • A deeper understanding of how to apply the Change House model in real guidance conversations.
  • Practical tools to support clients in navigating transitions with confidence.
  • Insights into how practitioners can hold space for both the discomfort and the growth that change inevitably brings.
This session is designed for guidance practitioners who want to strengthen their ability to guide clients through complexity and help them unlock the potential that lies on the other side of change.
