Career practitioners play in an important role when giving career guidance to migrants. The career practices can either strengthen or dampen long-term integration. We will look into ideals, expectations and norms within career guidance with migrants: who are the clients, who are the practitioners, and what is career guidance in this context.

This is a webinar run by Dr Miika Kekki that explores how career guidance is framed within integration and migration, and how various ideals, expectations and norms are translated into career practices. The focus will be in discussing what kind of self-reflection and awareness would best help a practitioner to work in this context and with migrants. The webinar is based both on recent research on the topic, but also on Miika's own practical experience of working as a career practitioner in Finland.
