About Me
I am an Assistant Headteacher (Secondment) and Head of the Humanities Faculty at St Christopher's Senior School (HMC & BSO accredited, Spear’s Top 100 Private Schools Worldwide) and a Chartered Teacher, line managing the History, Geography, Psychology, Religious Education, Philosophy, Global Perspectives and Travel and Tourism Departments. I was delighted and honoured to be named one of 50 ‘Edruptors’ globally by ISC Research for influential, innovative and disruptive educational practice.I deliver CPD globally on a range of topics, including AI and technology in education, school leadership, academic and pastoral development, data to drive student progress and wellbeing as well as school systems, partnerships, marketing and logistics. I am involved at the strategic level of school leadership and educational policy creation, consulting on policy for schools and governing bodies worldwide.
I hold an MA (Distinction) from the University of Nottingham and a BA (Hons) History and Politics from the University of Leicester. I also have a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE & QTS). In addition, I am a qualified and registered Careers Guidance Professional with the Career Development Institute (RCDP), holding the Qualification in Careers Guidance (QCG) and the Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance (PDCG) from Nottingham Trent University. I am very pleased to have commenced the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) programme with the UK's Department for Education and the Best Practice Network.
As a proud Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA), I support the work of the organisation to advocate for practical solutions to social challenges. As well as being a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching (FCCT), I am a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership (FIoL). Moreover, I am a Member of both the Royal Historical Society and the Historical Association, holding ‘Chartered Teacher Status’ (CTHist).
I have significant experience in both academic and pastoral capacities. My twenty years in education spans leading international schools worldwide, the UK state sector and specialist educational provision. Moreover, I am the Co-Editor of the Versus History Podcast (@versushistory) and judge of the annual Versus History Essay Prize, having co-authored a range of books and articles on history and wider education.
