The growing diversity of choice facing 18 year old school leavers increases their (and their parents’/guardians’) need for detailed and impartial information, advice and guidance from their teachers and advisers.
Advanced technologies of the 21st century are significantly impacting on the way the employment market is accessed. This requires young people to develop and utilise new skills including using social media to learn about and apply for training and job opportunities, and to plan and manage their careers. This lively interactive course has been designed to help careers teachers and advisers gain a better understanding of how social media can play an essential part in a relevant and up-to date careers programme. The course will help individuals and organisations address issues around the use of social media in education.
This introductory session will aim to answer some key questions: What is NLP is and how it is used? What are the issues around NLP; what is the debate around its use? What are the key considerations for people investigating using NLP? How can I find out more? How could it be used in career and personal development contexts? How do I get trained and make sure I get good quality training?
