An Introduction to Careers Work in Schools and Colleges

This one-day course will provide a thorough introduction to careers work in schools and colleges. It will include an overview of the policy context and the aims principles and essential components of CEIAG. The programme will focus on each aspect in turn and conclude with a examination of the role of careers leaders in schools and colleges today. This event will be led by David Andrews, an honorary life member of the CDI, and expert in careers education, who has huge experience in running courses for teachers, advisers and others involved in CEIAG. All our training events are open to members and non-members.


Embedding Social Media within Careers Education and Guidance

This new hands-on, social media training course, to be held in Manchester, is designed for career educators and advisers who are keen to focus on embedding social media within careers delivery. Engaging with young people with SEND: an opportunity to learn from experts, ask questions and share ideas and experiences

The CDI supports many professionals working with SEND young people in a wide range of settings from special schools and units to community programmes and adult social care. This new one-day regional conference programme (York, London and Exeter) has been designed to build the confidence of practitioners who are relatively new to this area of work. Through plenary sessions and workshops, it will provide delegates with valuable insights into the behaviours, difficulties and disabilities, experienced by clients who require additional support.

Introduction to Transactional Analysis (webinar)

This introductory session will aim to raise awareness of the theory’s main tenets and look at how the theory may be helpful on coaching (including career coaching) scenarios. Using real stories and illustrative materials the theory will be ‘unpacked’ in a fun and active way. The webinar will also support delegates in finding out more and how to get trained in TA.
