The CDI Council is an advisory body that represents the interests of the membership.
The purpose of the Council is two-fold:
- To provide feedback, updates and input from Regional and Nations members to inform CDI activities
- To consider reports from the CDI Board and provide advice based on the interests of the profession
Council membership
The Council is made up of:
- The CDI President who chairs the council, president elect (when in post), honorary secretary and chief executive
- A representative from each of the regions of England and the nations of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales
- Up to 2 co-opted individuals from the membership to ensure a balance of geographical representation, skills, and experience
Members of the CDI Executive and Board may also attend meetings.
The role of the council
The CDI Council meets twice a year and members of the council will:
- Provide a regional focus by consulting with local members and providing feedback in the council
- Contribute to the CDI’s business and strategic plans by reviewing and discussing reports submitted by the board
- Take part in the panels for the final judging of the UK Career Development Awards
Minutes of council meetings
The remit and structure of the council was changed by agreement at the 2019 AGM. Due to the COVID outbreak the new approach is being implemented in 2022 and minutes will be posted here as council meetings take place.
