With a previous career in retail and retail banking, Melanie Moorhouse completed the QCG and Post-Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance at Bristol UWE. She started working as a careers adviser in 2009 at a state 6th form with A-Level and BTEC students under the mentorship of Alan Bullock. For the last 5 years she has been at St. Clare's, Oxford an International IB School. With an international cohort, she has developed an international careers education program to support the students and is responsible for supporting applications to all countries globally. The majority of her students apply in 2 countries and many apply to 3 or more for university, these regularly include the USA, Canada, the Netherlands, France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Australia.

OVERVIEW 

This webinar aims to give advisers used to supporting students making university applications in the UK an understanding of the key information, terminology, processes and deadlines to support applications outside the UK. This will include considering the changes in language and practice needed to empower students to consider options outside the UK within careers education and 1-2-1 interactions.
