This briefing paper sets out the background, evidence and key issues relating to professionalism in careers work in England. The document was produced on behalf of Careers England by Tristram Hooley and Siobhan Neary (iCeGs) and Claire Johnson (CDI). It will be used to inform discussion at a meeting organised by Careers England, Careers and Enterprise Company and CDI in London on 11th March.
The meeting will be attended by representatives from the sector as well as from the Dept. for Education and will look at what is needed from careers professionals in the 21st Century.
Findings from this meeting will be used to inform the implementation of the Careers Strategy and new Statutory Guidance.
