14 01.14

It is with sadness that we share with you news of the death of Rob Stokes, known to many working in the career development sector as the one time Head of Gloucestershire Careers Service and a past President of the Institute of Career Guidance. Committed to working with disadvantaged and disabled young people, Rob also became well known for his work in publicity and publications for the ICG and helped to establish the government’s Job Search campaigns.

He retired from the careers service in 1997 and established the pioneering Pathfinder Careers Charity, providing financial awards to assist young disadvantaged and disabled people. He was awarded an MBE 2006. A great enthusiast with huge creative flair, and a passion for Cliff Richard, he will be missed.
