Welcome to the CPD Newsletter for June 2022
Finding time in our busy professional lives for CPD can often be a challenge. This newsletter provides some suggestions for CPD activities and provides links so that you access or book the activity quickly.
Undertaking CPD meets one of the principles of the CDI Code of Ethics for all CDI members. If you are also on the UK Register of Career Development Professionals there is a 25 hours per year requirement of undertaking and writing a short reflective report in your CPD Record accessed through the landing page of the Members’ area.
This month: Professional networking for professional development
Inspiration in action
Happenstance happens. An email forwarded by Claire Johnson has shaped this month’s newsletter – and provides perfect evidence of the value of its theme: professional networking. Marc Truyens wrote to Claire about his website and resources. So much of our networking is now in some kind of online format, that this inspired me to address ‘networking’ through an attempt to round-up some of the excellent online resources from CDI members.
Starting with Marc – where else!
Marc’s web resources are possibly a unique blend of career theory and graphic design. From theory A-Z and a career theory timeline to creating infographics, this is a site with something for every career practitioner.
Creative career coaching
Liane Hambly needs little introduction in career development circles. Like Marc, through her website she offers a range of free materials and articles for professional colleagues, alongside the necessary sale of products and services essential for earning a livelihood.
