Welcome to the CPD Newsletter for July 2022

Finding time in our busy professional lives for CPD can often be a challenge. This newsletter provides some suggestions for CPD activities and provides links so that you access or book the activity quickly.

Undertaking CPD meets one of the principles of the CDI Code of Ethics for all CDI members. If you are also on the UK Register of Career Development Professionals there is a 25 hours per year requirement of undertaking and writing a short reflective report in your CPD Record accessed through the landing page of the Members’ area.

This month: Resources for career development programmes

Career programmes are most common in educational institutions, but they also exist in workplaces, for unemployed people, in prisons and in preparation for transitions into retirement. In all cases, a comprehensive, theoretically-sound programme is essential. This newsletter is generally less concerned with overall programme design, and more with identifying interesting and unusual resources to support and enliven programmes and encompass multiple personal characteristics and situations

Careers Leaders

A key resource for CDI members who are Careers Leaders, or who work closely with them, is the Careers Leaders Community of Practice. Any interested CDI member can join this group.

SEND – in schools and colleges

A recent update from the CL Community of Practice relates to the Whole School SEND resources offered by nasen. This blog details their activities, and highlights their linking from secondary schools through to FE in coming years.
