Higher Apprenticeship Standard: Career Development Professional

It is great news that the Employers’ Group working on the new Higher Apprenticeship Standard for Career Development Professionals, is ready to receive feedback from careers professionals.

This email explains the Standard and Survey Monkey feedback process. The deadline for completion of the survey is 12 noon on 12th September 2018.

The Standard

The Standard provides an occupational profile with the duties that a fully competent employee should be able to undertake when working in the occupation.  It also sets out the knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) required by the individual to successfully carry out the duties.

These are developed through employment and ‘off-the- job’ training which includes the attainment of a careers related qualification recognised by the Career Development Institute as giving eligibility to the Register of Career Development Professional; that is 60 credits@ level 6 or higher.

On completion of an apprenticeship programme designed in accordance with the Standard, an apprentice is referred by the employer for an independent end point assessment.  The assessment is to determine that the apprentice is able to undertake the full range of occupational duties set out in the Standard.

Feedback Survey

Prior to the Employers’ Group submitting the Standard and the End Point Assessment to the Institute of Apprentices for approval, the CDI who has been supporting the Employers’ Group has agreed to send out a Survey Monkey on their behalf.

Documents and the survey monkey can be found at:

The closing date for the survey monkey is 12 noon on 12 September 2018.
