New CDI website goes live

www.thecdi.net - the new interim website is live. The site includes intriductory information about membership and the elections for Board, Council and the Professional Standards Committee and a new job vacancy for General Manager of the CDI.

ICG members overwhelmingly vote to become a major partner in the new CDI at AGM on Friday 1st Feb 2013

The AGM vote, which was supported by a postal ballot of members, makes it clear that ICG members fully embrace the concept of working with partners to create a single, united voice for the career guidacne and development sector.

ICG President, David Milton said: "It will be very hard to say good bye to the ICG which has been a leading voice lobbying on behalf of careers practitioners for 70 years, but we have to move with the times - the sector is huge and we want to embrace that diversity in our membership. The CDI will be a professional membership organisation for everyone who works in the fields of careers education, information, advice, guidance and consultancy. We all feel that this is the right direction of travel and we urge colleagues to join us and sign-up to the new CDI."

Ian Barratt, ICG CEO added: "There is lots to do now to get the four major membership organisations alined for the official CDI launch date of 1st April 2013. The good news is that everyone is very positive and enthusiastic to move forward. We aim to launch a new interim CDI website on Monday - www.thecdi.net".

The CDI Prospectus can be accessed below. We want your feedback: For example: 1) Do the member services outlined meet your needs? What new member benefits would you like to see? 2). If you live/work outside England what mechanisms need to be put in place to represent your views – a national forum/committee?
