CDI activity in Wales
Croeso/ Welcome!
Wales' first project associate, Carolyn Parry, started work in September 2017. Her brief is to engage with and grow the CDI's membership in Wales; increase the Institute's footprint and influence with key organisations and opinion formers and develop a CPD programme for Welsh members.
We aim to ensure that members living in Wales benefit from being able to access rich information and learning opportunities to support your professional development.
Supporting members
Our members are important to us and we value hearing from you. To ensure that you are as up to date as possible, we provide a fortnightly email especially for Welsh members and welcome your feedback on it. Please send any items that you would like us to include to Carolyn.parry@thecdi.net
Carolyn also runs our CDI Cymru Wales LinkedIn members only group where you can network virtually with other members and keep abreast of and share news and views.
Other CPD Webinars and Live Training Events
Free webinars are part of our membership benefits package, so you can already take part in any of the webinars listed in our training programme free of charge. To book your place and receive the joining link simply complete the standard booking form – see events section of the website.
We run Wales specific webinars which cover topics identified as important to Welsh members including: building confidence techniques in clients; using LinkedIn effectively, and working with neurodiverse clients. You can watch these again our YouTube channel – accessible through the Members’ Area of the website.
As always, we always welcome suggestions for new webinars from individual and organisational members and are working on new webinars for the coming period.
We also offer live training events for individual and organisational members such as the NLP course which ran in Newport last year which are chargeable. If you would like to talk about specific training topics, please get in touch.
All our live events should be booked and paid online by credit/debit card/Pay Pal. (Schools only may request payment by invoice and should ring the office with a purchase order number.) If you experience any problems with booking an event or would like to discuss an event in more detail, please contact ashley.bott@thecdi.net or call 01384 376464.
Promoting the sector in Wales
Since January 2018, we have been running a quarterly CDI Cymru Wales Professional Careers Education and Guidance Forum. Aimed at senior representatives and practitioners cross the career development sector, the Forum has three pillars to focus its activities:
- Acting as the Professional Voice for the sector
- Sharing Best Practice and Research, and
- Enhancing Quality, Professionalism and Workforce Development
You can read more about the work of the Forum and access minutes and presentations made to the Forum here.
If you would like to get involved in the work of the Forum, please contact Carolyn and she will be happy to talk about it with you.
Sharing news about activities in Wales
We are always keen to fly the flag for Welsh sector activities wherever possible including at the CDI conference. You can download our latest conference presentation on Welsh career development affairs here.
