As the UK’s professional body for career development, with a track record in the design and delivery of training, resources and frameworks, the CDI is your ideal partner for development projects in the career development sector.

Why work with the CDI

We use our detailed knowledge of the sector and extensive network of experts, to provide services and support to help members develop and maintain their skills and knowledge for their work in public and private practice, education, research and policy.

The CDI is engaged with key policymakers and influencers, with team members on the Board of Careers England and the Quality in Careers Standard Consortium and on the Executive Group for the review of the matrix Standard.

We have extensive experience in designing, delivering and awarding training – from an extensive CPD webinar programme to level 4 and 6 certification, from being the largest provider of the level 6 Careers Leader training for the Careers and Enterprise Company to awarding the Level 7/SCQF Level 11 CDI Qualification in Career Development at eight universities as part of the Masters/Post Graduate Diploma in Career Development.

We have a long history of creating an extensive range of resources to support learning and development, policy initiatives and best practice, including the CDI Blueprint of Learning Outcomes for Professional Roles in the Career Development Sector and the CDI Career Development Framework

This expertise enables us to deliver client projects, either leading overall projects or bringing careers expertise to a wider programme. Recent work includes developing a Careers and Workplace Related Experiences (CWRE) self-assessment toolkit for schools and delivering workshops for The Skills Show and World Skills.
