What is it?

This free tool is available to all CDI members and offers a simple assessment of digital confidence. It’s a tool you can use once, or repeat annually as a regular part of reviewing your own CPD.

The tool presents 16 generic workplace scenarios and members rate how confident they are that they have the necessary digital skills in each scenario.

How is CDI using and developing the CTRL tool?

  • We are collecting some data on areas of work – e.g. school, FE, HE
  • Reporting and comparison of anonymised average scores by areas
  • This will help define future CPD offering and inform ongoing strategy
  • We are exploring further research options to confirm validity and reliability of the measure
  • We welcome suggested resource ideas and links which we can add
  • For a modest development cost we can build bespoke versions of this tool for an individual organisation, featuring your own resources and internal links. Please contact dan.hope@thecdi.net for more information.
