Croeso! Welcome!
We aim to ensure that members living in Wales benefit from access to rich information and learning opportunities to support your professional development. Our Associate in Wales engages with key organisations to promote the value of the careers profession and represents Wales as a member of the CDI Council.
CDI Associate in Wales – Carolyn Parry
Following a career change after a languages degree and 17 years in business, I have been working in the career development sector for almost 20 years now as a practitioner and senior manager. I am a passionate advocate for high-quality career guidance and coaching to help individuals of all ages create effective working lives, having witnessed its transformative effect on others and not least as a result of my own lived experience.
I have been privileged to be the CDI Project Associate for Wales since September 2017, supporting and promoting the interests of the CDI and its members in Wales and serving on Council as the representative for Wales.
When not looking after members’ interests in Wales, I also serve as the President of the CDI and run Career Alchemy, an award-winning career coaching practice which helps early stage and established professionals (directly and through organisations) to create and grow purpose-led careers. Unsurprisingly, being Welsh, I am also a firm supporter of the Welsh rugby team!
Suggestions and comments are very welcome, as are members who would like to volunteer to support our work in Wales, so please get in touch – carolyn.parry@thecdi.net
CPD webinars and training events
CPD activities are part of your membership benefits and you can join a wide range of free webinars available to all members. These include specific webinars for members in Wales, covering topics relevant to those working in the Principality. You can access recordings of previous webinars via the Members’ Area of the website.
We also hold live training and networking events, so look out for those on the Training and Events page.
As always, we welcome suggestions for new webinars and training from individual and organisational members.
Promoting the sector in Wales
Since January 2018, we have been running the CDI Cymru Wales Career Development Forum. Aimed at senior representatives and practitioners cross the career development sector, the Forum has three pillars to focus its activities:
- Acting as the Professional Voice for the sector
- Sharing Best Practice and Research
- Enhancing Quality, Professionalism and Workforce Development
You can read more about the work of the Forum and access minutes and presentations made to the Forum here.
If you would like to get involved in the work of the Forum, please contact Carolyn.
Career Matters magazine
We are keen to see a good representation of articles reflecting practice in Wales within the Career Matters magazine. This quarterly publication includes a regular update from Wales and if you have an idea for an article, then please contact: editor@thecdi.net.
