Digital Career Management (Free Webinar - Scotland)

Monday 29th January 2018 13:00 - 14:00

Monday 30th April 2018 16:00 - 17:00

Overview

Advanced technologies of the 21st century are significantly impacting the way the employment market is accessed.  This requires young people (and adults) to develop and utilise digital skills and competencies using social media to learn about/apply for training and job opportunities and to manage their career.  To facilitate this career professionals need to fully understand the nature of social media and wider digital career literacy within careers guidance and to develop their own knowledge of how to enhance a personal brand.

This webinar provides an introduction to this theme exploring theoretical underpinning, live social media examples and an insight into the future of career management support.

 Aims

By the end of the session participants will be able to understand the need to advise clients on:

  • the popular and sector social media sites for finding work
  • strategies and methods of using the key sites for job hunting
  • creating the right personal brand on social media sites
  • do and don'ts of job hunting on social media (netiquette)
  • right resources to look at for follow up

Although this webinar topic has been requested by members in Scotland, it is open to all CDI members.
