Scottish Regional Meeting

Thanks to those who attended the Scottish regional meeting on 3 February in Glasgow.

And thanks to our President, Virginia Isaac and Chief Executive, Jan Ellis for joining us. It was great to see some new faces at the meeting.  Virginia gave an overview of CDI priorities for this year and the particular focus on professionalism in the career development sector

Vivienne Brown, our Project Associate in Scotland and myself provided an update on the work we are doing with stakeholders in Scotland including the General Teaching Council for Scotland, Scottish Government, Education Scotland, SDS, the FE sector and AGCAS.

CDI Manifesto Scotland

In preparation for the Scottish elections, we have prepared a draft manifesto (a similar one is being produced in Wales) and we discussed this at the meeting.  A copy of the draft is available on the CDI Scotland Linkedin group.

Please let me have your comments by Monday 15 February.  If you are not already a member of the CDI Scotland Linkedin, please do join and keep up to date with what is happening. You can comment via the Linkedin page or email Vivienne on

New CPD events programme

As part of our ‘year of professionalism’ strategy, we are organising a range of free early evening CPD events across different locations in 2016.  Claire Johnson, CDI Professional Development Manager gave us an excellent start by delivering the first event, Professionalising the Sector, in Dundee on 21 January.

In addition there will also be a couple of one-day CPD events for which there will be a charge, including a day lead by John Lees.
