CDI activity in Wales 2017-18

Wales' first project associate, Carolyn Parry, started work in September. Her brief is to engage with and grow the CDI's membership in Wales; increase the Institute's footprint and influence with key organisations and opinion formers and develop a CPD programme for Welsh members.

Over the last three months Carolyn has: 

  • Identified and is starting to organise a series of webinars for Welsh members 
  • Contributed relevant sector news for the fortnightly News by Email
  • Met with Welsh delegates at the annual CDI conference
  • Represented the CDI at the Seren Network event and allied presentations following an invitation from Welsh Government. (Seren supports Wales’s brightest sixth formers to help their achieve their academic potential and gain access to leading universities.)
  • Continued to work on setting up the Careers Education and Guidance Forum for Wales to ensure cross sector professional life long career education and guidance good practice development
  • Worked with Jan Ellis, CDI Chief Executive to arrange an NLP training event to take place on Wednesday 14 March in Newport (15 places only book through the website)
  • Promoted activities and liaised with members via the CDI Wales LinkedIn group and sourced editorial material for the January edition of Career Matters
  • Delivered a presentation on the CDI at the Ceredigion WorkWays + Employer Support Group outlining the benefits of membership
