1. Planning

Following a survey of members, who voted overwhelmingly in favour of an annual conference event in 2017, we are working to develop a programme that meets your needs and expectations. Based on your feedback, we know that members highly value workshop sessions; high profile speakers; an accessible venue and a value for money conference price. Putting this package together will be challenging, but we have an outline programme and an elegant four-star venue booked.

The conference package will comprise several options:

  • Two day conference fee (including refreshments and lunches) - special early bird rate from 14 June to July 31
  • Two day conference fee (including refreshments and lunches) - standard rate from August 1st to November 30 (to be paid by December 1st)
  • Conference dinner
  • Day delegate fee  Day 1 and Day 2 (including refreshments and lunch)

The conference package does not include accommodation - we will provide a link so this can be booked direct with the hotel (we are holding rooms for the Sunday and Monday nights). This gives delegates maximum flexibility to choose to stay at the St Johns or another local hotel or Premier Inn.

2. The Programme

The big picture: Day 1 of the conference will include the exhibition; two plenary sessions; the President's address (Virginia Isaac), one workshop; CDI's AGM and a conference dinner.

Day 2 will comprise two workshops; two plenary sessions and an opportunity to welcome and hear from our incoming President (Laura Bell).

Conference themes

  • Jobs, economic growth and the importance of lifelong career development for all
  • The coaching/counselling paradigm
  • Digital skills for career professionals
  • The future of work and mental health and wellbeing
